Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - As the Buffalo Bills prepared to face off with their AFC East rival New England Patriots on Sunday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was in town and spoke on the Buffalo Bills Radio Network with Sal Capaccio, Chris Brown and Eric Wood.

Goodell spoke at length about the situation revolving around Monday's medical emergency involving safety Damar Hamlin, the response from the Bills and the league, and how the process unfolded with the NFL's decision.
The commissioner specifically noted how impressed he was with the actions of not only the Bills' training staff, but also the medical staff of University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
“It was obviously difficult and challenging," said Goodell during his appearance on Sunday. "You never want to see a circumstance like that with your player or anybody else. The most important thing was to allow our medical personnel - who are trained, practice, they have protocols for this exact scenario - I knew they were going to do the right things, medically.”
Goodell also touched on how this affected the Bills organization, especially the actions the players of the team took to show respect and support for Hamlin.
"The players, several times, we wanted to hear from the players on Monday night before finalizing any decisions on postponing," Goodell said. "Everybody was respectful, sensitive, put Damar first, and you wanted to make sure you heard from that before making decisions.”
