Matt Prater week-to-week with quad injury

The Bills will need to find a new kicker for, at least, this week's matchup against the Browns

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Buffalo Bills place kicker Matt Prater is considered week-to-week with a right quad injury, head coach Sean McDermott announced on Monday.

Prater nailed all five of his extra point attempts in the team's 35-31 victory over the Patriots on Sunday. McDermott says he found out about Prater's injury on Monday.

The Bills will need to sign a new kicker for their game next Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, and possibly beyond.

Tyler Bass is on Injured Reserve with a pelvic injury, and will be out for the season after having surgery.

McDermott also said defensive tackle Jordan Phillips will miss next weekend's game in Cleveland with an ankle injury he suffered Sunday in New England.

Meanwhile, cornerback Christian Benford (toe) and linebacker Terrel Bernard (elbow) are both improving. The Bills will see where it goes with them throughout the week.

Wide receiver/return man Mecole Hardman Jr., who is on Injured Reserve and has missed four games with a calf injury, may have his 21-day Injured Reserve/Designated-to-Return window opened this week, according to the head coach.
