Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills reportedly got some good news on Monday, as the team gets set to begin mandatory minicamp on Tuesday in Orchard Park.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, safety Jordan Poyer is expected to attend minicamp, despite the 2021 First-Team All-Pro still wanting a new contract with the Bills.
Poyer has been with the Bills since 2017, and achieved his first All-Pro honor with the team this past year. His 2021 season saw the veteran register 93 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, and five interceptions in 16 games played.
The 31-year-old is entering the last year of his current contract, and is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
While Bills general manager Brandon Beane has been in contact with Poyer’s agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln, no new deal has been announced.
Starting Tuesday, Buffalo's mandatory minicamp will take place over a three-day period, as they finish up their spring workout schedule before training camp begins in late July at St. John Fisher College.
