Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN/WGR Sports Radio 550) - "It was an amazing experience. Everybody treated me great. It was really cool to see behind the scenes how everything comes together."
WGR's own Buffalo Bills sideline reporter Sal Capaccio shared his experience on the set of "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story" while appearing on WBEN on Friday.
Crews are in Western New York filming the new Hallmark Christmas movie
until mid-June.
"I have a role in a couple of scenes. In one, I had a speaking part with the
main character played by Matt Daddario," said Sal.
Both of Sal's scenes were filmed in the Bills' offices above the tunnel end zone of the current Highmark Stadium.
Sal shared a picture of the trailer where his dressing room was located.
"They actually had trailers with rooms for each character. My character's name is Mike. There was a sign that said 'Mike', and I had my own room for changing," Sal described. "Then I went to makeup and there was a hair person there. I made a few jokes because I'm bald. We had a good time with that. Everyone was phenomenal. I got to meet Bobby Bacala from the Sopranos, the character portrayed by Steve Schirripa. It was really cool."
He said you can definitely get the feel for how the movie is going to be all about Buffalo and the Bills, as well as the new stadium.
"Dion Dawkins is here, Damar Hamlin, DeWayne Carter. Coach Sean McDermott filmed a scene when I was there. Everyone is embracing this, and it's really bringing guys together in a lot of ways," added Sal.
