Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Even though the pads came on for the first time on Monday at Buffalo Bills training camp, there wasn't much hitting being done, and it was only temporary before taking them off.
Things changed on Tuesday.
Not only was it a full day with pads at St. John Fisher University, but there was plenty of physicality and, predictably on the first day of hitting, several skirmishes and minor fights broke out.
Things got testy early when the offensive line and defensive line were having 1-on-1 drills against each other. Offensive lineman Alec Anderson, who's never shy about mixing it up and getting involved, had more than one back-and-forth shoving match with defensive lineman Ed Oliver after going head-to-head a few times.

Once the teams got together for 11-on-11 work, there were several more incidents, including a few rookies getting involved.
First, it was edge rusher T.J. Parker drawing a crowd and getting into a shoving match with one of the offensive players. Then towards the end of practice, offensive lineman Jude Bowry was in the thick of it and being held back.
The most notable dust-up happened when tight end Dalton Kincaid caught a pass, went to the ground, then as he got up, was drilled back down by linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr. That got plenty of offensive players upset, and a pretty big crowd gathered with some pushing and shoving before everyone was separated.

Injury scare for Davis
Running back Ray Davis injured his foot/ankle area when he went into a pile with the ball, fumbled it, then got piled and rolled on by quite a few players who were trying to jump on it. A defender immediately signaled for athletic trainers to come out.
Davis was down on the grass for a couple minutes being looked at, but eventually got up and walked on his own power to the medical tent.
He came back out with his right foot/ankle area wrapped, did some running exercises with an athletic trainer, and even went back into practice.
Walker still out
For the second day in-a row, defensive tackle Deone Walker worked with an athletic trainer on the side of the field and did not take any individual or team reps.
After practice, he said he tweaked his elbow, and that he got fitted for an elbow brace on Monday and will start wearing it soon and return to practice.
Gardner-Johnson not back yet
Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who is out with a calf strain, also worked with athletic trainers during the session.
