After nearly a year of discussion and debate on the subject certain books are set to be moved from the children's section in Greenville County.
It was a unanimous decision on Monday as the Greenville County Library Board voted to move books depicting transgender children out of the kids section and into the parent and early childhood section.
The Board says around 20 books will be moved they have not released a list of the exact books set to be moved. Relocating them to the parent and early childhood section would make the books restricted to adults and minors with a library card.
Not all Greenville County Libraries have a parenting or early childhood section, the books in question will be relocated to branches that do have those sections. Board Member James Hoard was outspoken about one of the books citing that libraries are tax-payer fund, saying it's not the taxpayers duty to subsidize "this trash".
