PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Fans of “Queer Eye” will have a chance to get to know the stars up close and personal next week during a live show at the Miller Theater.

On each episode of the Netflix show, the Fab Five team up to help someone remake their life — from fashion to home design to emotional reflection.

However, fashion expert Tan France says the live show on Feb. 19 will be a little different.

“The question I keep getting from the audience is, ‘Are you going to do makeovers?’ And we wouldn't do it justice,” France said. Each makeover is filmed for a week. The live show will only be 80 minutes.

France says the live show will be “an interactive version of what you see on the show about the Fab Five,” including behind-the-scenes stories and a look at how the show is made.

“We're going to talk about how a scene actually goes, …how we do our components of the show. We're going to play a lot of really fun games. You're going to get to know who we were before all this, about our childhoods.”

France says it’s also an opportunity to get to know their newest cast member, Jeremiah Brent, who stepped in on interior design when Bobby Berk left the show.

“I think having a new cast member, for me, … revitalized the show,” France said. “Because Jeremiah was new to this, he was so excited about each day. …It was as if an audience member joined us. I was able to see it through their eyes. And I was like, oh gosh, this is so special what we get to do.”

France has many fond memories of filming season five in Philadelphia. He recalled visiting Pat’s and Geno’s and even giving Gritty a makeover.

He also raved about Philly’s food scene. “Little Nonna’s, they do the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life,” he said. “Zahav is my favorite restaurant, arguably, in the world, …and I became really good friends with Michael Solomonov, who's the owner of the place.”

France hopes anyone who attends the live event feels the love in the room even more than they do when watching the Netflix show.

“We're hoping that people will bring their friends, family. We want you to have the most positive, uplifting experience.”

Tickets for “The Fab Five Live” on Feb. 19 at the Miller Theater are available on Ensemble Arts Philly’s website.
