The board members in Montgomery County, Texas have made a decision to impose limitations on individuals under the age of 18, preventing them from accessing materials deemed explicit or objectionable within the county's seven public libraries, which includes books containing LGBTQ+ content. As well as adding more politically conservative books to its shelfs.
During the meeting, Lisa Palmer said that there's "a woke agenda" to "sexualize our children at a young age." In addition, she drew a parallel between non-conservative perspectives and cigarettes, arguing that both should be kept away from children.
