Robert Kraft's attorneys and prosecutors accuse each other of lying in court in escalating war of words

Florida prosecutors and Robert Kraft's attorneys continue to escalate their war of words over his misdemeanor case for allegedly soliciting prostitution at a Florida day spa.

Prosecutors claimed in court last week one of Kraft's lawyers, Alex Spiro, who helped defend Aaron Hernandez in his double homicide case, falsely accused Jupiter police officer Scott Kimbrak of telling his colleagues he would lie to justify traffic stops of Orchids of Asia Day Spa customers. Kraft was pulled over after his first visit to the spa on Jan. 19, only to return less than 24 hours later.

In turn, William A. Burck, another one of Kraft's attorneys, says the state is lying about their tactics. "Alex Spiro and our firm will not be intimidated by the state attorney and their efforts to smear us with false allegations and will not deter us from defending our client from what we have contended are unconstitutional illegal acts," he told NBC News

Kraft's lawyers are arguing the traffic stops were illegal. Kraft handed over his driver's license during the stop and showed off his Super Bowl ring, according to the police report. The Patriots' owner was described as cordial during the ordeal.

The next schedule hearing in the case is slated for May 21. Judge Leonard Hanser has ordered Kraft to attend.

Last month, Judge Hanser ruled the surveillance videos taken at the spa, which Kraft's lawyers are also arguing were illegally recorded, must stay sealed until a jury is seated.
