NBC was blessed with numerous storylines at its disposal to pump up the masses for the big Brady-Rodgers showdown on "Sunday Night Football." But amazingly, the Peacock opted to go with a suspect numerology lesson prior to kick-off, devoid of any meaning or purpose.
Since both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers wear No. 12, sideline reporter Michele Tafoya told us the number has "long been used a measuring stick." To explain her cogent point, Tafoya said there are 12 months in a year and 12 eggs in a dozen. But in the case of Rodgers and Brady, we are measuring greatness. This whole thing definitely sounded better in a producer's head than it translated onto the screen.
In Tafoya's breakdown of "12," she wrongly told us "one" is a prime number and went on to explain how "two" is about seeing "two sides of any situation, diplomacy, partnership and mutable nature of life." That's why those who are "12 people," according to Tafoya, are "dynamic and energetic" and "aren't afraid of pushing the boundaries."
