Why the Patriots might draft him: With Tom Brady taking his aging talents to Tampa Bay, New England is in the market for a starting quarterback for the first time in nearly three decades. Eason has the size and obvious strong arm to be an NFL QB.
What is he good at: As the 2015-16 Gatorade National Player of the Year Eason began his college career at Georgia, winning the starting job as a freshman before an injury as a sophomore sidelined him and led to a transfer to his home state Huskies. At 6-6, 231 pounds Eason looks the part, especially when firing the football all over the field with maybe a little too much confidence. He’s far from a polished, can’t-miss prospect, but as a pro-style passer he has clear upside. Oh, and did we mention he’s tall and has a strong arm?

And then there is this: As Eason’s Wikipedia page clearly and necessarily notes, while the quarterback is indeed the son of Tony Eason, it’s not the same Tony Eason who was a first-round pick of the Patriots as a quarterback out of Illinois in 1983. Jacob Eason’s dad, Tony, did play college football as a wide receiver at Notre Dame in the mid-80s, though.
