As the old saying goes, if you have two quarterbacks then you don’t really have one.

Well, the Redskins have three quarterbacks right now and according Washington head coach Jay Gruden, no real plan for which guy is going to play on Sunday against New England.

Plan, what plan?

“We don't have one right now,” Gruden admitted. “I'm going to go out here and practice today. We have individual and a little bit of work we're going to do and we'll see the health of the guys, first of all. We'll see where Dwayne [Haskins]'s at, and we'll make a decision shortly.”

Early-season veteran starter Case Keenum was pulled last week in favor of the first-round pick Haskins. Veteran Colt McCoy is now healthy and apparently also very much in the mix.

Gruden wasn’t sure when he would have or reveal a plan for his quarterback against the Patriots.

“I might just wait until Sunday at 1:00 and figure it out then,” Gruden said.

Bill Belichick, as he’s emphasized in the past with other teams with quarterback uncertainty, made it clear that New England will prepare for each of Gruden’s QB options.

“We prepare for all of the players that are on the active roster every week. As we all know, it could change after a play or two in the game anyway. No matter who you think it's going to be, it could change so we have to be ready for everybody, and we're preparing for all three quarterbacks,” Belichick said during his Wednesday press conference. “All three guys are very talented. Two of them have a lot of experience in the system and Haskins, obviously, is a young, talented guy that was taken in the first round. Really, they're all problems and we'll have to be ready for whichever ones play.”

Gruden was all over the place with his comments earlier in the week when discussing his QB decision with reporters.

“I will absolutely play the person who I think will give us the best chance to win,” he said. “I can make the decision now. I might have already made a decision.”

He then contradicted that response.

“I’m going to let it play out, because I want to see these guys perform,” he said.

He’ll apparently continue to let it play out on Wednesday and maybe even all the way through until game time Sunday in Washington.
