-- Tom vs. Time director Gotham Chopra appeared on Undisputed on Tuesday and shed some light on the relationship between Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo before Garoppolo was traded to the 49ers.

Chopra was asked about Brady potentially resenting Belichick for wanting to keep Garoppolo with the Patriots after ESPN’s report was published in January about a rift between the quarterback and the coach.

“Tom’s a competitor,” Chopa said. “He considered Jimmy a protege, like a friend, they do this annual trip down to the (Kentucky) Derby and Jimmy was a part of that trip, like he was sort of under Tom’s tutelage on and off the field. But I think Tom’s a competitor, and he felt like, ‘Well, as long as I’m on this field, as long as I’m showing up at training camp, I’m going to win this job.’ And that’s no slight on Jimmy, but (Tom’s) a competitor.”

-- Jonathan Martin surrendered to police on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to four felony charges after posting a photo on his Instagram last month of a shotgun and bullets scattered on a bed with the caption, “When you're a bully victim and a coward, you're options are suicide or revenge.”

Police found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, an ax and a knife located in Martin’s car after he was arrested a day later.

The words #HarvardWestLake and #MiamiDolphins appeared on the shotgun. Harvard Westlake, the high school Martin attended, closed for the day as a precaution.

Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, who bullied Martin while they played for the Dolphins, were tagged in the post.

Martin, who last played in the NFL in 2015, is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 25. He faces up to six years in custody if convicted.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “I don't think that (Belichick’s negativity) will push (Brady) out, because he's so competitive. He wants to win. He put up with it for 18 years, it's probably been difficult. Maybe he lost his cool at some point this year. But I don't think that will push him out, because I know he loves to play the game of football.” -- Troy Brown, during his appearance with D&K, on Brady-Belichick tension
