The 2019 season continues to be a rough one for the Red Sox as a whole, but Xander Bogaerts has been a pretty consistent bright spot at the plate. More recently, in his last seven games, Bogaerts is rocking a .346 batting average with a home run and five RBIs. His effectiveness against lefties so far this season has contributed to that, as he is hitting .438 against them.
His .297 batting average overall is good for second best on the team, with two home runs and eight RBIs to boot. The Sox are currently 6-13, worst in the AL East, and if they are able to break out of this slump they’re in any time soon, Bogaerts’ success at the plate could be a big reason why.
