Although Brad Stevens wasn’t upset with Raptors head coach Nick Nurse for allowing Kemba Walker to play past his All-Star Game minutes restriction, it wasn’t a good look. The optics didn’t improve when the Celtics ruled Walker out for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves due to left knee soreness.
Somehow it’s gotten even worse.
Stevens told reporters in Minnesota Walker had his knee drained after the All-Star Game, and the point guard received an injection to reduce the swelling and help with the soreness. But the Celtics head coach did add Walker’s knee looks good structurally.
Stevens also expressed Walker would not have played in the All-Star Game had he known this could have happened.
