When the Red Sox acquired Marcus Wilson in the trade that sent Blake Swihart to the Diamondbacks, the outfielder was sent to Double-A Portland, having spent the then young season with the Jackson Generals, Arizona’s Double-A affiliate. He was hitting .235 with an .879 OPS for Jackson and his numbers took a hit in the move to Portland, where he only hit .161 with a .532 OPS.

After 19 games, Wilson was sent down to Class A Advanced Salem and has seen his numbers improve. The 22-year-old is batting .333 with three doubles, a home run and seven RBI through his first 10 games with Salem after going 2-for-4 in the 7-2 loss to the Down East Wood Ducks (Rangers) on Wednesday.

Kelley consistent for PawSox

As Boston’s bullpen continues to look for answers during its rough stretch, Trevor Kelley has been a dominant reliever for Triple-A Pawtucket. The righty has made 17 appearances in 2019, 13 of which have resulted in scoreless performances and one where the only run he gave up was unearned. His latest scoreless appearance came in the PawSox’ 7-3 win in the first game of the doubleheader against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) on Wednesday. In each of the other three outings, Kelley has only surrendered one earned run. (He gave up two runs in one appearance, but one of the runs was unearned.)

On the season, the 25-year-old right-hander has a 1.13 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP (20 hits and 10 walks) and 24 strikeouts in 24 innings.
