Remember Edwin Jackson? He's the pitcher who has now pitched for 14 big leagues clubs. He is also the starter the Red Sox will be facing Monday afternoon at Rogers Centre.
Jackson is making his second start for the Jays, coming off a five-inning, three-run, no-decision against the Giants. The last time 35-year-old faced the Red Sox was in a Padres uniform back in 2016. That afternoon he dominated the Sox, shutting them out over seven innings while striking out 11.
No current Red Sox hitter has more than eight plate appearances against Jackson, with the rehabbing Dustin Pedroia having gone 7-for-23 against the righty.
Jackson will be going up against Red Sox starter David Price, who is pitching for the first time since hitting the injured list with elbow tendonitis. He last pitched May 2 in Chicago and enters this start on a four-outing run that has seen him total a 2.63 ERA.
J.D. Martinez is not in the lineup for the Red Sox, with Steve Pearce getting the start at designated hitter.
