After suffering a concussion in the AFC championship game, Rob Gronkowski missed the first few practices last week before returning Saturday and Sunday.

Appearing on Dale & Holley with Keefe Monday, Bill Belichick spoke of having the tight end back on the practice field.

"It was good to have him out there," he said. "We'll see how it goes as the week progresses."

Gronkowski is still in the concussion protocol, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. He stood on stage at the Super Bowl send-off rally at Gillette Stadium Monday morning, but does not have a podium at Opening Night.

"It is always great to have him out there," Tom Brady said Saturday. "He is a great player, great person, great teammate and a big part of what we do. Obviously, it hurts when he is not out there for a lot of reasons. He's doing the best he can do and we're all hopeful."

The first injury report of Super Bowl week will come out on Wednesday.
