Once again, Bill Belichick's coaching advantage was on full display in Sunday's 13-9 win over the Cowboys.
In rainy, windy conditions, the Patriots looked like the team who practices in the elements every day, while Dallas looked like a team who was experiencing rain for the first time. There were also several issues in the game where Belichick lapped Jason Garrett, especially on special teams.
Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Monday, WFAN and CBS Sports' Boomer Esiason said Belichick is the Patriots' greatest asset moving forward.
"There's no question Belichick is always going to be the advantage for his team," he said. "There's no question about it. From special teams, defensive schemes, and even with Josh McDaniels, he's standing side-by-side. The years and years and years of experience to deal with different things and certain types of offenses. They are not going to win every game, we know that. Baltimore kind of schooled them back in early November. They will learn and if they see them in the playoffs I am sure that is going to be a different type of game simply because they will have a better sense of how fast and how crazy it is to play against Lamar Jackson.
"But, I think Belichick is a genius. He truly is. He's the greatest coach of all-time in the history of the league. He keeps adding to his stats. He still keeps beating good teams and good coaches. He will have his hands full next week when they play on Sunday night down in Houston."
As for Tom Brady's frustration last week, Esiason said that is just who he is.
"He's striving for greatness, man," Esiason said. "He wants to be good. He wants to throw for 350 yards and three touchdowns every game. He's a great teammate. He will never argue about that internally. He will never say anything to the coaches, 'I want more opportunities' and things of that nature. But, what he really wants? He just wants to win. He just wants to play well."
