EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rob Gronkowski isn't the only Patriots tight end getting his contract reworked Thursday.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Dwayne Allen and the Patriots have agreed to a reworked contract, reducing his compensation for this season. Allen was due $4.5 million with a $5 million cap number, which will now be lowered.
Allen said at the beginning of training camp last season was not a true indication of who he is as a player and he did not take care of his body. After a different offseason workout regimine, he believes this year will be different.
In his first year in New England last year, he caught just 10 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.
