Tom Brady's documentary "Tom vs. Time" premiered Thursday on Facebook and it's director Gotham Chopra joined Dale & Holley with Keefe to discuss the series.

One of the immediate thoughts some had after viewing the piece was it was an infomercial for the TB12 Method. Chopra said that is not the case.

“No. I am pretty positive anyone who is saying that hasn’t yet watched it," he said. "One, I don’t think it is that and two, TB12, look, I didn’t know much about TB12 frankly before I started working on this, but I will say the stuff that touches on TB12, it’s part of who Tom is. It’s a daily practice and I know there’s products and stuff like that, but really when you look at it his approach to the game, especially when it comes to the physical and pliability stuff he does with Alex Guerrero, it is sort of a lifestyle.

"It’s hard for me — I have been to TB12, the facility maybe a hand full of times, but more so my interaction with it is how does this guy prep physically, mentally, emotionally. I think TB12 is a profound influence and has a lot of influence on that.”

Chopra said he's been wanting to do something like this with Brady for a long time.

“There are no simple answers. I have been wanting to do this for years, and I have known Tom for a few years," he said. "I have been pushing him. Everything he’s done I feel like for the last five years has been somewhat historic and so as a filmmaker, as a documentarian, I kind of wanted to get into it. He was very politely declining on that and I would say this past offseason, probably in about April, he sort of said, ‘Hey, let’s just start doing this.’ It wasn’t with a particular end in sight, as much as he is turning 40 and he has thinking going on in his life. I think thinking back to last season there were certain things he wanted to talk about and so we just started. It was a collaboration as most things are.”

Bill Belichick was not approached for the piece and no footage is from Gillette Stadium. This was strictly focused on Brady away from the facility and the only players featured are Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola when they all went to Montana last offseason.

Chopra said Brady has nothing against Belichick.

“I spent time with Tom last weekend around the championship game," he said. "He is as focused as ever. He loves his coaches. He knows they are the best in the business. Again, people will see that in terms of the success they have had from Coach Belichick to [Josh] McDaniels, everyone. He gets it and he gets that is a product of the collaboration of the product they have had this amount of time.”
