This feels like a recent trend for Julian Edelman.
The Patriots wide receiver was not part of the NFL's top 100 players in 2020 list released on NFL Network in recent days, which comes following a year where he did not make the Pro Bowl in a deserving season. Edelman has never been named to the Pro Bowl.
Last season, Edelman finished with 100 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. The 100 receptions were the second-most in his career and 1,117 receiving yards the most. While the Pro Bowl may have been a stretch, it's a knock on him to not be included in the top 100 players list.
In 2019, he was ranked No. 90 when he came off a 2018 season with 74 catches for 850 yards.
Wide receivers included on the list for this year are: Michael Thomas, DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones, Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs, Devante Adams, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Tyler Lockett, Larry Fitzgerald, Keenan Allen, DK Metcalf, Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson.
These lists are voted on by the players themselves, which could give Edelman even more motivation for the coming season than he already had.
