Joe Judge explains how he'll handle coaching wide receivers in addition to special teams

FOXBORO -- Coaching for the Patriots means you're always busy, but even more so now for Joe Judge, who will serve as wide receiver coach this season in addition to his normal special teams duties.

Judge will be entering his fourth year as special teams coach and will be replacing Chad O'Shea, who is now the offensive coordinator in Miami with head coach Brian Flores.

"It will definitely be challenging," Judge said. "The best thing we have now is we have very good support. Cam Achord does a tremendous job. We have great assistants on the offense. There's great support from the top on down with Coach Belichick, with Josh. The biggest thing I can do to help the team right now is to stay organized and diligent to make sure I am taking care of all my responsibilities to help the team. Make sure they are prepared the best they can be."

The 37-year-old didn't want to get into how this transition came about, just noted how much he enjoys coaching, no matter what position it is.

"I have always wanted to coach football," Judge said. "That's about it. I will coach the JV wrestling team if they tell me to. But, any position in football I am excited to coach. Anybody on our team I am excited to coach. Anything that coach asks me to do I am going to do with a full head of steam."

Judge will have his work cut out for him at wide receiver with not many familiar faces besides Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett.
