With training camp fast approaching, Pro Football Talk put out its NFL preseason rankings and the Patriots came in perhaps higher than some might have expected.
Clearly, having Cam Newton on the team has improved how the Patriots are viewed, as they came in at No. 4.
Here is what Mike Florio wrote: The only certainty amid so much uncertainty is that, whatever the rules or procedures or protocols for 2020, Bill Belichick will crack the code and win games. And he has Cam Newton. And Newton is apparently healthy and motivated.
The Patriots came in two spots ahead of Tom Brady's Buccaneers as they were No. 6. As for the AFC East, the Bills were No. 9, Jets No. 24 and Dolphins No. 26.
At the top, it was the Chiefs, followed by the 49ers and then the Ravens.
Training camp is scheduled to begin July 28.
