Maybe we shouldn't cross Miami off the list of potential destinations for Tom Brady.
According to Mike Lynch, a long-time sports anchor for WCVB in Boston, the Dolphins are "very interested" in Brady.
It wouldn't be all that surprising except for people in the Dolphins organization being on record saying they would not be interested in the quarterback.
"I agree with Steve as far as, 'Why would he want to come to Miami?' I do," head coach Brian Flores said at the NFL Combine, agreeing with owner Stephen Ross who said at the Super Bowl Brady wouldn't want to come to Miami since it is rebuilding. "I'll leave it at that. I do agree with Steve."
As of Monday, it appeared the only teams left interested in Brady were the Chargers, Buccaneers and Patriots.
It is worth noting Miami spent a lot of money on Monday boosting its defense, and with the most cap space in the league there's still room for more players to be added. At the moment, Miami has Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen at quarterback and is said to be very interested in Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.
While it seems far-fetched, the report should not be totally dismissed.
[UPDATE 11 p.m.]: Lynch has updated his report saying Miami is out of the race and Tampa Bay is believed to be the leader in the clubhouse.
