Rick Nash is officially a Bruin.
Working on the particulars throughout the night, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney and Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton successfully struck a deal to land the 33-year-old winger in Boston by sending Ryan Spooner, Matt Beleskey, prospect Ryan Lindgren, a 2018 first-round draft pick, and 2019's seventh-round draft pick to New York.
To make this deal work from a cap perspective, the Rangers will retain half of Nash's pro-rated $7.8 million cap hit (Nash is a free agent this summer), while the Bruins will eat half of the money remaining on Beleskey's contract ($1.9 million through 2020).
Nash has scored 18 goals and totaled 28 points through 60 games this season, and comes to Boston with 15 goals and 41 points in 77 career playoff games.
Nash will meet the Bruins in Buffalo and is considered available for tonight's game against the Sabres.
