In a beyond surprising move, future Hall of Famer and former Bruin top-liner Jarome Iginla was back on New England ice Tuesday, and was even donning the Spoked...P?

The move back to the ice comes four months after the 40-year-old Iginla underwent hip surgery, and while Iginla would love to latch on with a team for another push at capturing the first Stanley Cup championship of his illustrious career, it doesn’t as if a reunion with the team Iginla scored 30 goals for in 2013-14 is exactly around the corner.

"Jarome had reached out. He had some stuff this summer that he was coming back from and wanted to see where he was, to skate with the team," Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said on Tuesday from Edmonton. "Jay (Leach) and John (Ferguson) felt OK with him jumping on the ice with the guys, so that's where that's at. That's really just for Iggy."

This would line up as a simple favor considering the fact that Iginla, who bought a $4.5 million home just outside of Boston this past summer, currently resides in the area.

But should Iginla, who scored 14 goals and 27 points in 80 games between the Avalanche and Kings last season, truly want to give one last a run a go, he would need to sign with a team before Monday’s trade deadline to be eligible to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
