Bruins winger Rick Nash took his first strides towards a postseason return Tuesday with a solo skate at Brighton's Warrior Ice Arena, according to Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy.

Injured on a Cedric Paquette hit in a Mar. 17 win over the Lightning and off the ice since a Mar. 19 morning skate left the 33-year-old sniper feeling unfit to play, the Bruins' lips have been decidedly sealed when it's come to updates on the 33-year-old Nash. They’ve instead opted to go with the famously vague ‘upper-body injury’ designation, but provided hope last Thursday with word that Nash was doing some off-ice workouts.

"That was good,” Cassidy, whose team has 4-0-4 during No. 61’s injury, said of Nash skating. “We'll see how that goes tomorrow, how the progress is [with his injury].”

An obvious fit with David Krejci on Boston’s second line, Nash has recorded three goals and six points along with 41 shots on goal in 11 games with the Black and Gold.

Barring a setback between now and Game 82, the Bruins remain hopeful that Nash will be able to play in at least one of the club's final two regular-season games at TD Garden.
