Bruins announce 3 signings, including Jakub Zboril, Greg McKegg

They're not big splashes, but the Bruins announced three signings Wednesday afternoon.

They've signed defenseman Jakub Zboril to a two-year deal with an NHL cap hit of $725,000; forward Greg McKegg to a one-year, two-way contract with an NHL cap hit of $700,000; and goalie Callum Booth to a one-year, two-way contract with an NHL cap hit of $700,000.

Zboril, 23, was a restricted free agent. He was one of the Bruins' three first-round picks in 2015, but so far he has appeared in just two NHL games. He is coming off a strong season with AHL Providence, though -- with coach Jay Leach saying in May that he was "probably our best defenseman overall" down the stretch -- and will get a chance to compete for NHL playing time on the left side of the defense heading into next season.

McKegg, 28, has played 185 career NHL games with six different teams. This past season, he had five goals and four assists in 53 games with the Rangers. He should provide either fourth-line depth at the NHL level or veteran leadership at the AHL level. Also, if you dig into the fancy stat analytics, you'll find that he has an awesome name.

Booth, 23, split time last season between the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Atlanta Gladiators of the ECHL. He has played in 15 career AHL games and provides some organization depth in net.
