While much has been made of Jake DeBrusk's hot streak, Jeremy Swayman has arguably been even hotter recently.
The reigning NHL Rookie of the Month continued his stellar play to begin March, stopping 34 of the 36 shots he faced in the Bruins' 5-2 win over the Golden Knights on Thursday.
After offering up a save of the year candidate on Saturday in San Jose, Swayman made another highlight-reel stop in Vegas.
This one came early in the second period. Golden Knights center William Karlsson made a nice pass in close to set up former Bruin Reilly Smith, who briefly had a lot of net to shoot at.
Swayman somehow got across just in time to take that open net away and make a terrific blocker save to preserve what was a 1-0 Bruins lead at the time. Here's the stop:
Swayman would make another big save later in the period, as he came out to challenge Shea Theodore and gloved a shot that actually deflected on its way in.
With the win Thursday, Swayman is now 6-0-1 with a .967 save percentage over his last seven starts, rapidly climbing up the league leaderboards in virtually every goalie statistic in the process.
