The good news for Jaylen Brown is that he didn't get traded to Brooklyn for Kevin Durant. The Nets sent Durant to Phoenix late Wednesday night in a blockbuster deal instead.
The bad news is that he took an elbow to the face during the Celtics' 106-99 win over the 76ers and is now expected to miss "some time" with a facial fracture, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Charania adds that Brown will undergo further examination with a specialist on Thursday, but that the initial feeling is that Brown could be out through the All-Star break.
The All-Star Game is on Feb. 19 and the Celtics' first game after that is Feb. 23. Based on Charania's reporting, it seems like a safe bet that Brown will miss Boston's four games before the All-Star break, including a big showdown at Milwaukee on Tuesday, as well as the All-Star Game itself.
Brown's injury came late in the second quarter when he and Jayson Tatum both went for an offensive rebound and Tatum inadvertently elbowed Brown in the face. Brown was clearly in pain as he clutched the left side of his face and did not return to the game after going to the locker room.
The Celtics were already without three other starters Wednesday night. Marcus Smart missed his eighth straight game with a right ankle sprain, but is expected to return soon. Al Horford (right knee swelling) and Robert Williams (left ankle sprain) were game-time decisions, but were ultimately unable to go.
