Are the Patriots suddenly the furthest from a championship?

Of all the four major Boston sports franchises, could the Patriots be actually the furthest from a championship?

Such a statement seems implausible, but a strong case could be made, as Greg Hill Show producer Chris Curtis pointed out Monday morning ...

"The New England Patriots, today, March 7, 2022, are the furthest professional team in Boston from a title and it's not close," he said. "The Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox are all closer to winning the championship than the New England Patriots. For the first time in 20-plus years the New England Patriots are the worst team in Boston ... It's unbelievable."

Curtis added, "Anybody who is being somewhat honest would say it's not really that close. The Celtics and Bruins are as hot as any team in their respective sport."

When it came to the other voices on the show, the producer wasn't alone in his sentiments.

"I would actually agree with it," echoed Jermaine Wiggins. "I think the Celtics are the closest."

While the actual construction of both the Red Sox and the Patriots are still somewhat a work in progress, the successes of the Celtics and Bruins are hard to ignore.

The C's are one of the NBA's hottest team since the turn of the new calendar year, sitting at 39-27 in the Eastern Conference's No. 5 spot, They are 4 1/2 games out of the top position - currently owned by Miami - and just 1 1/2 games away from claiming No. 2.

The Bruins are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games sitting with the fourth-most points (72) in the Atlantic Division. Only Tampa, Florida and Toronto reside in front of them.
