The Patriots offense will look a lot different in 2021 than in 2020, as a number of new faces were added.
One of those was wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, who spent the first four years in the league with the 49ers and signed with New England as a free agent this offseason.
His best season came a year ago when he finished with 49 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns.
Appearing on NFL Network's Good Morning Football recently, former NFL receiver Nate Burleson believes Bourne will be better than that this year with the Patriots.
“He has made a name for himself. Right out the gate, we knew he was special in San Francisco, and that’s why the Patriots were aggressive when they went after him," he said. “Now the Patriots, they didn’t have a wide receiver to have three or more touchdowns last season, so the offense was inept to say the least ... but now that they have playmakers at the wide receiver and tight end position, I know Kendrick Bourne is going to eclipse his career highs. 49 catches, 667 receiving yards, that’s nothing compared to what he will do in this offense.”
Burleson added: “I say it’s Cam Newton throwing [Bourne] the ball, and he will put up close to 800 yards this season.”
Bourne seems to be enjoying his time with the Patriots already, saying last week he wants to be with the organization a long time.
