Cam Newton sure sounds like someone who wants to return to Patriots

First came Cam Newton's interview on the Greg Hill Show Monday, making it clear he has no intention of retiring.

Then there was the quarterback's Instagram post, lumping him in with the guys in the Patriots' locker room who want to be part of the solution.

And Tuesday in an interview with NBC10 Boston's Raul Martinez, Newton seemed to double-down on his desire to get a crack at playing for the Patriots in 2021.

"Absolutely. I'm always up for a challenge," Newton told Martinez. "For me, knowing the events that took place wasn't under the circumstances that I would have wanted them to be. Part of me is saying there's a lot of unfinished business and knowing there's a lot of answers in that locker room that I do believe and know we could turn this thing around."

Newton's season has been a roller coaster, interrupted by a positive COVID-19 diagnosis and derailed by inconsistent play from the 31-year-old.

He carries a quarterback rating of 79.6, having thrown five touchdowns and 11 interceptions while rushing for 11 TDs.
