6 rings: What will things look like when Belichick departs?
For the second week in a row, a team has plucked a quarterback from the Patriots practice squad.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Chargers have signed quarterback Will Grier to their active roster on Monday.
The Patriots signed Grier to their own active roster in late September off of Cincinnati's practice squad, but ultimately never activated him for a game. He served as the team's scout-team quarterback as well as their emergency third quarterback on game-day a handful of times, but was waived on November 25th to make room for OT Conor McDermott. Grier then signed back to the practice squad the following week. He now heads to Los Angeles.
Just last Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens signed practice squad QB/WR Malik Cunningham from the Patriots' practice squad after the former Louisville signal caller had boomeranged on and off of their active roster.
New England will likely look to make a move at signal caller in the near future as they now have multiple open spots on their practice squad. They worked out former Brown QB E.J. Perry last week. That could be a name to watch for.
