This is not going to help Josh McDaniels' cause.
Speaking on a recent podcast of “I Am Athlete” with LeSean “Shady” McCoy, Brandon Marshall and Chad Ochocinco, former linebacker D.J. Williams talked about his time under McDaniels when he was the head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2009.
Talking on the podcast, Williams said when they did everything that McDaniels told them to do when they saw certain looks, they won the game.
The Broncos got off to a 6-0 start that season, but after their film person was caught filming their opponents practice.
Williams noted they went on to finish 8-8 that season.
McDaniels was fined for failing to report the violation to the NFL and was fired the next season.
Williams said he believes the Broncos were only winning games then because of McDaniels’ cheating, calling it “Junior Spygate.”
McDaniels rejoined the Patriots in 2012 and this past season was his 13th overall as the team’s offensive coordinator.
