Woe be the Jets fans. Time and time again they get themselves worked up, thinking their run of ineptitude and misfortune, especially against their oppressor and big brother in the division, the New England Patriots, will come to an end. Always thinking this is their game, this is their season, only to be the proverbial Charlie Brown and have Lucy pull the football away time and again. Everyone expects it, yet when they believe otherwise and the same result keeps occurring, what can you do but laugh and move on to the next game.
And what fun is football fandom without a mix of delusional faith, die-hard belief and some self-deprecating wit in the first place?
Jets coach Robert Saleh spoke of “keeping receipts” of all the people doubting the Jets this season, and his confidence, mixed with a splash of good defensive play from the team, as well as recent floundering by the football team in Foxboro, led Jets fans to be chock full of undue confidence before Sunday’s AFC East showdown. Fortunately we were there to keep receipts and catalog as many of the NSFW comments as possible.

And then, straight from Central Casting, a merry lot of overly confident Jets fans, and Pats haters (same thing, really), who were sure Sunday was the day they took over and ended their losing streak against the Patriots. But hey, Zach happens, right?
Fortunately for these fans their team has a chance to redeem themselves against their arch rival in three weeks. Until then we can enjoy and empathize with this loyal lot of lovable losers.
