Julian Edelman is getting the "A Football Life" treatment.

NFL Films announced on Tuesday that the former Patriots wide receiver will be featured during the upcoming season of the long-running documentary series, which chronicles the lives of players, coaches, owners and teams from throughout the history of football.

Bill Belichick talks Miami, start of season

The new season will premier on Sept. 16 with an episode on Joe Theismann. Edelman's episode will air on Nov. 25, the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend. Other subjects to be covered this season include Rod Woodson, Edgerrin James, Franco Harris and the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

This will be the 11th season of "A Football Life," which began back in 2011 with a two-part documentary on Edelman's long-time coach, Bill Belichick. Other former Patriots who have been covered during the series' 116 episodes include Bill Parcells, Curtis Martin, Rodney Harrison, Wes Welker and Willie McGinest.

There is certainly plenty to cover in Edelman's life, from being a seventh-round pick, to his transition from quarterback to wide receiver, to replacing Welker, to being a three-time Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP.

It will be the second documentary about Edelman, following 2019's "100%," which chronicled his return from the torn ACL he suffered in 2017.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Edelman, who hasn't played since 2020, continues to tease the possibility of returning to the NFL.
