New 10-part Patriots docuseries coming to Apple TV+

Football season has just ended, but apparently Patriots content season is in full bloom, much to the likely delight, and chagrin, of many.

“The Dynasty”, a 10-part docuseries based on the nonfiction book of the same name by author Jeff Benedict, has reportedly been ordered by Apple TV+.

This comes on the heels of Tom Brady’s “Man In The Arena” docuseries on ESPN+, also in 10 parts, which will wrap up with a 10th and final episode this April. Normally the Patriots are coming off a Super Bowl win when there’s so much behind-the-scenes insight available to fans. Now it seems the 20-year run of dominance and championships has prompted the deluge of docs, tell-alls and more.

What may help set “The Dynasty” series apart is its strong production pedigree, with Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer teaming up with NFL Films for the project. It also boasts access to hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage from the Patriots' own archives, including access that director Mathew Hamachek was given during the 2021 season.

Plus there will be interviews with Patriots players, coaches and league officials past and present. Benedict was given access to the team for two years while writing the book, and now it seems the team is going a step further in opening the vault to tell the story of the greatest organizational run in NFL history.

No word yet as to whether or not owner Robert Kraft, coach Bill Belichick or Tom Brady will interview for the series. Brady was front-and-center for all 10 episodes of his series.

You can already hear the groaning from other fanbases across the NFL.

No release date has been set for the series.
