The Raiders have already requested permission to speak to two members of the Patriots organization -- Jerod Mayo and Dave Ziegler.
Could there be a third?
According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, Josh McDaniels is a name to watch out for when it comes to being Las Vegas' next head coach.
Mayo was requested to interview for the head-coaching job, while Ziegler was requested for the GM job. Rich Bisaccia, who took over for Jon Gruden in the middle of the season, remains a candidate to remain in place, while the search is fully on for a new general manager with Mike Mayock being let go this week.
McDaniels has yet to receive any interview requests, although his name has been mentioned with a few of the head-coaching vacancies this offseason.
For McDaniels, it's been said he would like to go to a team in a position to win as well as the right structure. That starts with having a good relationship with the general manager where the two would work very closely.
Las Vegas certainly has a good team and if the GM hired is someone close to McDaniels, it could make some sense.
