
Well, this is interesting.
According to multiple reports, the Raiders have requested to interview Josh McDaniels for their vacant head-coaching job.
It's likely McDaniels would be paired with current Patriots director of player personnel Dave Ziegler, who interviewed with the Raiders last week, as his general manager. The two went to John Carroll University together.
This comes following a report Wednesday that said McDaniels was calling around the league to put together a staff earlier this week, but "something happened in the last 24 hours" to change that.
Many have said teams would only interview McDaniels if they felt like they had a strong shot at landing him, so this does seem to be real interest on both sides.
In terms of replacing McDaniels if he were to leave New England, Bill O'Brien is a name that comes to mind.
