The Patriots spent their Monday working out six players free agents and after some brief deliberation, have signed two of them. Their roster now sits at the full, 90-man capacity prior to camp.
They signed both linebacker Diego Fagot and wide receiver Jalen Hurd according to Tom Pelissero and Jordan Schultz respectively.
Fagot played linebacker for Navy and was two-time All-AAC while leading the Midshipmen in total tackles over his last three seasons. He spent time with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and, according to Mike Reiss, is a long shot to make the roster.
As for Hurd, he played collegiately for both the Tennessee Volunteers and Baylor Bears before being drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 2019 draft. A running back turned receiver, Hurd unfortunately spent his first three seasons on IR and was released by San Francisco in November.
He enters a wide receiver room in New England that consists of several other veteran players nursing injuries.
