6 rings: Taking a closer look at the play of Mac Jones and the decisions from Bill Belichick Sunday

We’re onto week two.

The Patriots took the field on Wednesday as they began their on-field prep for their Sunday night football matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Here’s what stood on the practice fields outside of Gillette Stadium:

Attendance:

Absent: OT Trent Brown
Exempt: QB Matt Corral
PUP: S Cody Davis, DE Trey Flowers
IR: WR Tyquan Thornton, OT Riley Reiff, CB Jack Jones

Other Notes:

- Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was officially placed on injured reserve with a calf injury. He’ll miss a minimum of four games.

- Quarterback Matt Corral was placed on the “exempt/left squad” list last weekend after he didn’t show up to practice at the end of the week. Bill Belichick told the media that they have been in contact with Corral, but he remains off the team.

- To help the room, the Patriots signed QB Ian Book to their practice prior to Wednesday's practice, according to the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed. He was at the session in #19.

- The only absence was tackle Trent Brown. JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is presumed to be nursing an injury, was present at the session.
