Revisiting Saturday's roster moves and what they could mean for Patriots-Texans

It was a busy Saturday of roster moves for the Patriots.

- Signed linebacker Terez Hall from the practice squad
- Elevated wide receiver Donte Moncrief from the practice squad
- Activated running back Sony Michel from injured reserve
- Waived guard Hjalte Froholdt and defensive end Derek Rivers
- Signed defensive tackle Akeem Spence to the practice squad

So, what do these mean for Sunday's game with the Texans?

Hall should have a similar role that he's had the last several weeks in the middle of the defense, although it may be a little bit less if Ja'Whaun Bentley returns. The most interesting move may be the elevation of Moncrief. With N'Keal Harry added to the injury report late in the week, maybe his availability is in question. If that is the case, it will be interesting to see if Moncrief, along with new wide out Isaiah Ford, can make an impact in the passing game. The Patriots could certainly use a boost at the position with Jakobi Meyers being the only real option at the moment.

As for Michel being activated, it's hard to really envision him having a big role in the game given how well Damien Harris and Rex Burkhead are playing. With J.J. Taylor not making the trip, Michel seems likely to be a replacement for him, which is basically a player active in case of emergency.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
