Saturday night in Buffalo Mac Jones will check another box off his list of NFL experiences: playing in a playoff game.

No rookie quarterback has won a NFL playoff game since 2012 (Russell Wilson), so Jones certainly has the odds stacked against him.

Jones is embracing the experience of a win or go home game.

"Obviously, there's a lot you have to put into it as a team, as a player, as an offense," he said Wednesday. "Regardless of what level you're playing on, you understand what's at stake from both sides of the ball. The team you're playing understands that and then obviously you have to understand that too. I think it's more about just doing a little more but you've gotta stick to what you know and you just have to prepare like you always have, regardless of the situation.

"There's not a lot of room for error. There's more pressure. That's what makes it fun."

Jones will rely on his coaches and veteran teammates to help him prepare.

“I definitely think this is not their first rodeo and they have been through a lot of really close games in these type of situations," he said. "Just trying to listen and listen to the advice they have, whether it’s Josh [McDaniels] or Coach Belichick or anybody, even the older players who have done this before. It is another game, but there’s more at stake. You have to realize that there’s not a lot of room for error and that’s what makes it fun. It’s more pressure. You prepare well, you feel comfortable and then at that point you go play the game you’ve played since you were little.”

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. Saturday night.
