Zach Wilson reportedly out 2-4 weeks with sprained knee

An MRI on Jets quarterback Zach Wilson's ailing right knee confirmed a ligament sprain, according to a report.

The sprained PCL is set to sideline the rookie signal-caller for about 2-4 weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Monday morning.

Wilson exited Sunday's blowout loss to the Patriots early in the second quarter, after he went down awkwardly while being hit by New England's Matthew Judon.

After the game, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft said his knee got twisted and the play, and he felt something in it "pop."

Wilson also had his leg bent awkwardly on a more scary looking play by Patriots lineman Lawrence Guy shortly before his injury, but said he felt fine after Guy's hit, which seemed to be borderline late.

Asked whether he thought Judon had delivered a dirty hit, Wilson said no.

Backup Mike White came on in relief of Wilson, but the Jets' fate was sealed against a tough Patriots defense and seemingly improving offensive attack.

After the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh lamented the beatdown as a punch to "the freaking mouth" of his team.

The Jets host the Bengals on Sunday in Week 8, and visit the Colts on Thursday Night Football in Week 9.
