After leaving Sunday’s win with a wrist injury, Adam Duvall received an unfortunate update on Monday. The outfielder has been diagnosed with a distal radius fracture in his left wrist.

The Red Sox do not yet have a timetable for Duvall’s return. It is also unclear if he will need to undergo surgery.

(UPDATE: Alex Cora said after Monday's game that Duvall will not need surgery. MLB.com reports that Duvall could return in 6-8 weeks.)

Duvall was off to a scorching start through eight games, leading the American League in home runs (4), RBIs (14) and OPS (1.544) while hitting .455.

With Duvall out, Bobby Dalbec was recalled from Worcester on Monday.

Over 51 Spring Training at-bats, Dalbec hit .235 with an .814 OPS. He hit four doubles, two home runs and two triples, but he also struck out 21 times.

Before getting the call, Dalbec had logged 28 at-bats in seven games with Worcester. In that time, he had a home run, double and triple while hitting .261 and striking out 10 times.
