Friday's Red Sox-White Sox game postponed; Doubleheader Sunday

A day-long mix of rain and snow in Boston didn't bode well for the chances of playing baseball, and sure enough Friday night's Red Sox-White Sox game has now been postponed.

Friday's game will be made up Sunday as the second game of a doubleheader, with first pitch set for 5:10 p.m. Tickets for Friday will be good for that game.

Sunday's regularly scheduled game remains at 1:10 p.m. and now becomes the front leg of the doubleheader. Saturday's game remains at 4:05 p.m., and the four-game series concludes with Monday's annual Patriots' Day game at 11:10 a.m.

Each game of Sunday's doubleheader will be seven innings rather than nine under MLB's new rules that were initially adopted last year. It will be the Red Sox' second doubleheader in less than a week, as they swept the Twins in a doubleheader in Minnesota on Wednesday.
