The Islanders wasted little time in locking up one of their key impending unrestricted free agents, agreeing to terms Thursday with center Brock Nelson on a six-year contract.
The deal is worth an average of $6 million annually, according to multiple reports.
Other Islanders set to hit free agency this summer include right wing Jordan Eberle, center and captain Anders Lee, center Valtteri Filpuula and goalie Robin Lehner.
