Islanders Acquire Matt Martin In Trade With Maple Leafs

The Islanders said hello again to a familiar face on Tuesday, acquiring forward Matt Martin from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for goaltender Eamon McAdam.

Martin led the NHL in hits in each of his last five seasons with the Islanders. The 29-year-old skated in 50 games for Toronto last season, recording three goals and nine assists.

In 438 regular season games with the Islanders, Martin tallied 42 goals and 46 assists. He recorded a total of 680 PIM in his first stint with the Isles.

The 6-foot-3 wing finished two seasons in Toronto with 21 points and 183 penalty minutes in 132 games.
